This elegant villa was built in 1868 and converted in to a hotel in 1960. It closed in 2006 and after four years of extensive restoration, re-opens on 26th December 2010 as a wonderful property combining elegant furnishings with personal service – owners Sandro and Antonella Fratini will ensure that Kirker clients are especially well looked after.

Accommodation
It has a peaceful setting in its own grounds behind the Boboli Gardens, a 20 minute walk down the hill to the Ponte Vecchio. There are 30 rooms in the main villa and 14 in the ‘villino’ Eugenia which also houses the spa. Rooms overlook the large heated swimming pool or the gardens and are beautifully furnished with restored period furniture and works of art from the family’s eclectic private collection (rooms on the third floor have balconies). There are two more rooms in a small ‘folies’ by the entrance gates – ideal for a family.

The roof terrace (10 steps lead up from the lift) has wonderful panoramic views of the city and surrounding hills and is the perfect spot for an aperitif prior to dining in the restaurant. A free shuttle operates from 9am to 8pm, stopping at key points in the city centre (guests can leave shopping at sister property the Santa Maria Novella if they wish, prior to returning to Villa Cora at the end of the day).
